Our Kaplan turbines
Our product convinces by the compact and innovative design as well as the excellent material and processing quality.
KDP
Double regulated with permanent magnet synchronous generator
High-tech for high power: Kaplan turbine with permanent magnet generator
Our innovative Kaplan turbine type KDP (Kaplan turbine, double-regulated, with permanent generator) is the further development of our basic model KDR, which has proven itself for decades. In cooperation with an institute for electrical plants and machines, we have developed generators that are directly integrated into our Kaplan turbine without a transmission gearbox.
Important features
- • Use of a directly coupled permanent-magnet synchronous generator
- • Highest overall efficiency of the turbine unit with generator
- • Low-noise operation
- • Maintenance-free since belt maintenance and renewal of the flat belts is not necessary
- • Less space required in the machine room
- • Highest precision and excellent processing of the turbine components
- • Cavitation-resistant impeller material
- • Use of materials that are optimized for the highest stress levels
KDR
Double regulated with belt drive
Proven technology, rock-solid implementation: our basic KDR model with belt drive.
Our classic is the KDR type, the vertical-axis Kaplan turbine, double-regulated, with belt drive. Here, the generator is driven by a high-performance flat belt with a leather friction layer. There is no need to glue the high-performance flat belt together on site, as it can be installed in endless condition without dismantling the Kaplan turbine crosshead. The matching generator tensioning rocker arms for wall mounting or tensioning brackets for generators with a flange are optionally included in the scope of delivery. This proven turbine variant is significantly less expensive to purchase than our direct-drive models, which in return offer a higher efficiency of around 5% more annual yield.
Important features
- • Highest precision and excellent processing of the turbine components
- • Long-term and trouble-free operation
- • Maintenance-friendly design
- • Use of materials that are optimized for the highest stress levels
- • Corrosion protection according to DIN 19704-2
- • Fast and cost-effective installation
- • Low-noise belt drive
- • Cavitation-resistant impeller material
- • Proven classic at attractive price
KDD
Double regulated with direct coupled V1 generator
The strong compact solution: Kaplan turbine double-regulated, direct-coupled
Our vertical-axis direct-drive Kaplan turbine type KDD (Kaplan turbine, double-regulated, direct-coupled) is operated with a generator in V1 design.
Important features
- - Installation of a permanent magnet synchronous generator or separate-excited synchronous generator from various suppliers possible
- • Generator supports the axial load of the turbine
- • Generator shaft coupled directly with turbine shaft
- • Very compact design
- • Low noise operation
- • Cooling of the generator by built-in fan or water cooling system
- • Highest precision and excellent processing of the turbine components
- • Use of materials that are optimized for the highest stress levels
- • Cavitation-resistant impeller material
- • Corrosion protection according to DIN 19704-2
KSDP
Double regulated with permanent magnet synchronous generator and full spiral
Kaplan spiral turbine with permanent-magnet generator and full-spiral
Here, the difference to our innovative Kaplan turbine KDP (Kaplan turbine, double-regulated, with permanent generator) lies in the installation variant. With our Kaplan Spiral Turbine KSDP, a full spiral is used.
Important features
- • Steel sheet formwork with entry into the spiral chamber that is resistant to pressurized water
- • Possible connection on concrete or plastic pipes
- • Complete concrete cementation without additional forming
- • Optimal loading of the guide blades
- • Use in hydropower plants with pipe feed lines
